COCREBISTOL from the region of Santa Teresa, Department of Ocotepeque. It is an area with less than 1,000 inhabitants. It is situated about 300 km west of the Honduran capital, Tegucigalpa. It is surrounded by many hills where coffee trees are grown. COCREBISTOL (Cooperativa Cafetalera Biological Reserves Santa Teresa, Ocotepeque Ltda.) Is a small association of entrepreneurs who located their fields at altitudes from 1250-1600 m above sea level, on the hills surrounding the town where they live.The group of these extraordinary growers consists of 92 small producers (24 women, 67 men and the Puro collective) who manually harvest the beans once a year in November. Then they wash them, hand clean them, and finally dry their crops in the sunshine.
